Interesting. The latest iTunes 7.0.x and QuickTime 7.1.3 for Windows comes with an extra feature - Apple Software Update for Windows.
Here you go the description of this software from an Apple support article (article ID #304263):
Software Update is an Apple-supplied Windows program that updates Apple software (such as iTunes and QuickTime) over the Internet.
It looks similar to the Software Update in Mac OS X. I think it is a good feature for Windows users. Good stuff.
Except it doesn’t work. It didn’t even deliver the iTunes 7.0.1 update (which was very important for Windows users).
Thanks Derik for sharing. I didn’t know that. Oh! So the support article in my post is about the issue you mentioned.
